Mandate

Mandate is a dark-cinema template for missionary organizations, Christian nonprofits, and sending agencies. Nine pages cover the home narrative, an about page with organizational timeline, Go and Give conversion pages, contact, a missionary roster with individual profile pages, and a field-stories blog. The hero pins one word, GO, and drives the two letters apart on scroll while a near-black overlay dissolves, revealing the documentary photograph behind them. Six missionary profiles ship as JSON with prayer-request lists; five field dispatches ship as Markdown with author, field, and read time. Supporting sections carry unreached-people statistics with a Scripture pull-quote, a four-step sending process, and alternating region blocks. Ember orange on near-black, Bricolage Grotesque over Source Serif 4, custom cursor, Lenis smooth scroll and View Transitions throughout.

What’s inside

  • 9 pages, Home, About, Go, Give, Contact, Missionaries index, Missionary profile, Stories index, Story article
  • Kinetic GO hero, a scrubbed ScrollTrigger timeline pushes the G and O to opposite edges (xPercent ±100) while the overlay fades from 0.96 to 0
  • 2 content collections, 6 missionary profiles in JSON and 5 field stories in Markdown
  • Missionary detail pages with years serving, field, country, biography, and a prayer-request list
  • Field Dispatches section, one featured story plus a grid, each with author, field, tags, and read time
  • “The Unfinished Task”, three headline statistics (7,000+ / 3.2B / 41%) closed by a Scripture pull-quote

The signature

The homepage opens on a sticky full-screen frame containing a single word: GO, set at up to 16rem. A scrubbed GSAP ScrollTrigger timeline drives the G to the left edge and the O to the right (xPercent ±100) while a near-black overlay fades from 0.96 opacity to zero, so the documentary photograph is revealed through the widening gap between the letters. At 45% of the timeline the tagline rises into that gap. It reads as a title card, not a hero section.
